How to Choose an Entrance Door: uPVC, Aluminium, Panel or Automatic

Five decisions before ordering

1. Material: uPVC or aluminium; aluminium is used for heavy loads and high traffic.
2. Panel or glass: PVC panel doors (e.g. anthracite), made to size, or with glazed parts; browse the catalogue of models.
3. Safety glass: laminated (triplex) or tempered; see the difference between them.
4. Opening: left or right, defined from outside; each leaf of a double door can open differently.
5. Locks, handles and hardware to suit the building.

What to ask your supplier

• the manufacturer’s Declaration of Performance (DoP) and CE marking;
• the specification sheet with the opening confirmed before production;
• the warranty: 5 years on the product and 24 months on installation;
• the handover protocol after installation.

1. Measurements were taken on site.
2. Left or right opening is confirmed from outside.
3. You have chosen the panel or glass and the colour.
4. The safety glass is defined (laminated or tempered).
5. Locks, handles and hardware are in the specification.
6. You have requested the DoP, CE marking and written warranty.
